State Profiles
NIBRS Coverage
The map below presents information on each state's FBI Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program status. Law enforcement agencies contribute data to the UCR Program previously through the Summary Reporting System (SRS) and now through the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). Traditionally, SRS data reported to the FBI captured the number of occurrences of eight Part I crimes. NIBRS is an incident-based reporting system in which law enforcement agencies collect incident and arrest data across over 50 data elements for various crimes. The FBI transitioned the UCR Program to NIBRS-only data collection in 2021.
